Your photos and searches
There! helps you find a visible item in a photo. You choose a photo and describe what you are looking for. Choosing a photo does not send it for analysis. Before the first search with that photo, we ask permission to send it and your description through our server to OpenAI. If you cancel, no search is sent. You will be asked again when you change the photo or restart the app.
We use the photo and description to return your requested result. There! does not use GPS or Bluetooth to locate your belongings. Only send content you are allowed to share, and avoid including private information about yourself or others that you do not want these services to process.
History on your device
Completed searches, including photos, descriptions and results, are saved on your device. You can delete individual entries in the app. This history is not synced between devices, and we do not keep a permanent search-history database on our server. Device backups and copies you make are managed separately.
Deleting a history entry or uninstalling the app does not remove information already received by service providers. Contact us if you want to request deletion of information held outside your device.
Optional analytics
Analytics, crash reports, performance measurement and install measurement are off by default. You can allow them in Privacy choices on the main screen or purchase screen and turn them off there later. Photo search remains available if you decline. This choice is separate from permission to send a photo for an AI search.
If you agree, Google Firebase, Amplitude and AppsFlyer may receive app activity, crash and performance information, app and device details, installation or device identifiers and connection information. We use this to improve reliability, understand app use and learn how people find There!. Our app events are designed to exclude your photos, search descriptions and AI explanations. Turning the choice off stops new optional collection in the app, but does not erase information already sent. Reading this policy is not consent.
Purchases and support
In-app purchases are not currently available for general release. If purchases become available, Apple or Google will handle payment and provide information needed to confirm purchases, restore eligible access and handle refunds. We do not receive your full payment-card number. We will update this policy before paid sales begin.
If you contact support, we receive your email address and what you send us. We use it to answer your request and investigate the issue. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or photos you do not wish to share.
Service providers
We use providers to deliver searches, protect the service, handle support and provide analytics when you enable it. They may process information under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users.
- Photo search: OpenAI.
- Search-service hosting: Render.
- Optional analytics and diagnostics: Google, Amplitude, AppsFlyer.
- Future store purchases: Apple, Google.
- Website hosting and statistics: Cloudflare. Website visits involve ordinary connection information and page-view statistics; Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies to track visitors.
OpenAI states that photos and text sent through this service are not used to train its models by default. Our search service does not intentionally retain your photo or description after processing, but providers may retain information for security, abuse prevention or other purposes described in their policies. This is not a promise of immediate deletion by every provider.
Why we use information
We use information to provide the search you request, keep the service secure, answer support requests and improve the app when you enable analytics. Where a legal basis is required, this includes providing the requested service, consent for optional processing where required, legitimate interests in security and support, and legal obligations. You can change app permissions in your device settings and analytics preferences in the app.
Retention and your choices
Your local history remains until you delete it or remove the app's local data, subject to device backups. Temporary records help protect the search service from misuse. Providers keep technical, analytics and diagnostic records according to their own retention periods. OpenAI says its standard security and abuse-monitoring records may be kept for up to 30 days, with exceptions. We keep support correspondence as needed to resolve requests and meet applicable legal obligations.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, a copy, correction or deletion of your personal information, restrict or object to its use, or withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not undo earlier lawful processing. Email almostappsup@gmail.com and mention There!. We may ask for the minimum information needed to find your records and verify your request. You can also complain to the relevant data-protection authority.
International processing and security
Our providers may process information outside your country. Contact us for details about processing locations and applicable protections. We use encrypted connections to protect searches in transit, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children and changes
There! is intended for people aged 13 and older. Children under 13 must not use the app or send us photos, descriptions, support messages or other personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact almostappsup@gmail.com. We will review the report and take appropriate steps concerning information we control, including deletion where required by law.
Users aged 13 to 17 may be subject to additional local rules, including parent or guardian authorization for some uses of personal information. They should use There! and its optional features only where the applicable requirements are met. We will update this policy and its date when our practices change and notify you where required.
Who provides There!
There! is provided by Alexander Rysev, operating as Almost Apps. This policy covers the There! iOS and Android apps and related website visits. For privacy questions or requests, contact almostappsup@gmail.com.
